Okay so I have several developments to announce…
In any case, as I hinted in the above articles, I won’t be posting up much music online for a while. It’ll happen in the future, but not yet.
Nar, took me a while, but I eventually managed to get this up on tumblr…
:\
Anyways there it is… Nice and simple…
right? XD
*Edit* Note that I added an extra bit in the end? Yeah that is there to make it more interesting :P
The Road - Jeromia
Because it’s an original name… that’s why.
Also, a tiny hint next time for me… RECORD IN MP3! or otherwise tumblr (and everyone else for that matter) will say “no thanks >:( “
Ah finally… everything is ALMOST out of the way and I can actually post stuff up (alas!) :D
In any case, I have finally managed to get an awesome recording device (no seriously, my ears have literally being RIPPED TO SHREDS by this powerful recording device… Because I had no idea how to use it that’s why.) Here, I’l post up what happens when you press record in the living room (which is btw, next to a busy highway… so yeah).
Enjoy! :P
If you can’t read that, that’s fine.
Your sane
Anyways here’s what it says
SONG IDEAS!
These are stuff that I’m thinking to do when I get better. For now, I suppose I should go back to my old “children’s” songs =.= .
Nice and Simple
Nothing fancy here.
That is, to the untrained eye. Those eighth notes are completely annoying to draw! D:< . Other then that, there was also figuring out the timing for the song. This is quite important for any song, getting it wrong means that when some else looks at your song and tries to play it, that person will not be able to follow it if your timing is off.
So I had to figure out THAT annoyance too.
The title might be “Nice and Simple” but there was definatly nothing “nice” or “simple” about writing THIS up =.=”
(but honestly, it’s the easiest song to play on this page :) )
I’ve decided as well that posting these “origins stories”, I’ll number the book and page number, that way it’s easier for people to find stuff as I get more and more works up here.
Anyhow, NEXT SONG :D
Working the Scales
Hmmmm… I have to think hard to figure this one out. I ‘think’ I was trying to make a Dracula-like theme by playing random cords. So then I played some other notes after 2 cords I got an idea. What if I just keep going up a bit, then play two notes downwards and then two more notes upwards and then a new set of chords?
Turns out, when you get too high, the chords sound irritatingly annoying, which is why the 2 very high notes up there (8^E and 8^A… sorry, don’t know how to say it properly) aren’t chords, as they sound horrible, and BLEH (plus it’s sometimes better to keep things simple, you know? “less is best”?)
Although I made this song a while back (page 1, 2 and 3 would probably be riddled with songs I wrote down “unimportant-like” in music class =.=) I named it yesterday. I realized it’s just a set of chords going up and then down, so I named it “Working the Scales” because that actually REALLY fits.
….
(it actually doesn’t… much)
Okay before I began, I’d like to give a shout out to Johnny Wander
It’s only because of these guys that I decided to create this tumbr account and take this important step to become a composer (well it’s nothing now, but wait oh UNSEATED AUDIENCE! :D )
Anyhow lets start with the first song (it fits right? firstly the first song -.- )
Major Key Song
Ah yes this one. This is my first ‘composing for a task’ thing, rather then randomly playing notes, adding a key signature and then PRESTO, a song. No, this time I selected a specific key signature, then played randomly to find the song XD.
Anyways, after making our “randomly generated” song, we were supposed to play it to the class, either in a group or by yourselves. When it was my turn, I didn’t play it amazingly, but people thought it was a nice song (they were impressed :) ) so this song is rather important.
The cool thing about this song is that, if you changed the major key (this version is in F major btw) you can still get the same structure, but a different song entirely (like a scale) so, I decided to call this “Major Key Song” as it kinda fits with that.
It sound okay, and my favorite part (other then I might have created a new type of scale :D ) is the last two bars. A nice, soft ending is always… nice XD
Here it is, all my hardwork last night (well, it wasn’t really THAT difficult :\ ) is finally scanned up and “view-able.”
:D I’m quite excited actually.
Anyways just to let you know, here’s some of the obvious mistakes I made:
Enjoy and try playing it out for yourselves :)
